Camryn Nicole

Our family of 3 became 4 on October 9th at 3:16 pm (after a little delay due to drinking coffee). She was 7lb 7oz and 20.5 inches. She has lots of dark hair and some long legs! Camryn is a very mellow, patient and quiet baby. Savannah is loving her new sister and showering her with love. She likes to point out where Camryn's eyes and nose are when she's in reach.

The Pumpkin Patch

Savannah and mommy went to Greenbluff with Pops, Nunu, Aunt Kassio and Cousin Dillon. It was lots of fun and very windy! We picked out a few pumpkins that Pops helped carry and then picked some yummy apples.

Savannah couldn't wait to bite into one!

And of course before we left we had to have some corn on the cob. For those of you who haven't seen Savannah eat her favorite vegetable...here you go!

Fall fun on the Ranch

We are on the move! After Savannah that is! She loves to get outside and walk/run down to see her horses, the cows or just explore the ranch. Sometimes we think she has her own little conversation with the horses that consists of nickering and blowing back and forth at each other through thier nose.

Savannah's favorite thing to do when daddy get's home from work, is to feed the animals. She jumps in Big Jake and helps dad drive the truck to the barn to feed and water the horses and then down to the pens to throw some hay to the cows. When all done she promply waves bye bye.

She has fun continuing to look at tractors with her dad too. I'm not sure who is trying to convince who that we need one...a big one!

We went to the fair and watched some mutton bustin and mechanical bull riding...by the look on Savannah's face you would think she's taking mental note on what she would and wouldn't do if it were her turn!

New during the month of September...learning how to use a spoon (I guess you have to let them start somewhere!),
making funny faces,

an obsession with babies (she has 5)...we're thinking this is a good thing considering Camryn will be here soon,

drawing pictures,

We ended the month by saving Tom Cat from up in the tree and then showering him with love!

Where did August go?

We can't believe it's September already! August was a busy month for us. Garth has been working on landscaping at the entrance of our place and Savannah has been his little apprentice.

Below, Savannah is shopping with her dad at Home Depot for some supplies. Doesn't every girl's daddy take her to the hardware store in her wagon?!?

We also had a one year visit to the dentist...everything looks Great! Savannah does a pretty good job brushing her teeth. She now has 8 and that helps with her favorite...corn on the cob. And now scraping the filling out of the middle of an Oreo cookie!

We had some fun camping and boating with mommys family too in August.
We made a trip up to Greenbluff. Savannah had a blast picking...I mean eating peaches and raspberries at Greenbluff!

And of course we couldn't let the month go by without a lot of saddle time too!

A Family that Rodeo's Together...

As a family, we've made it to three of Garth's Rodeo's this year (so far). Cheney was first, then Joseph, OR and last weekend was the Omak Stampede! Savannah's favorite things to watch are the tractor that rakes the area, the bronc riding and listening to all the horses winnie.

We think it's safe to say we have a cowgirl...not to mention a cowgirl that has already outgrown her first pair of boots!

1 Year Old!

It's hard to believe that Savannah is already one! There is truth when they say, "it goes by fast!" She sure has accomplished a lot in her first 12 months. Walking by her first birthday was one that mommy & daddy were very proud of. But, now we are experiencing all the new challenges that brings!

A list of some other "tricks" Savannah has learned to do:

  1. drink milk from a sippy cup (no more bottle!)

  2. use a spoon

  3. make animal sounds (Kitty cats, lions, bees, horses, cows, and snakes...thanks to Aunt Jackie). Other sounds include the rumbling engine of trucks and/or tractors, mmm, and shh

  4. smell flowers (which basically involves wrinkling her nose and blowing out of her nose instead of in)

  5. blow on hot food

  6. winking with both eyes

  7. shake her head "no"

  8. say mama and dada (mostly dada)

  9. picking multiple things up with one hand

  10. having both hands full of food when eating

  11. ride a horse (on her own radio flyer pony or with daddy on the big horse)

  12. clap hands at the end of a song

  13. dance

  14. throw a ball

  15. pat tummy when asked where her belly button is

  16. open-mouthed kisses

  17. and our favorite...fetch Red!

We can only imagine what's next from here...stay tuned!

The First Month

Savannah Lee has been everything we thought she would be. She's a wonderful blessing and addition to our family. We can't believe it's already been one month. She is becoming more alert when she's awake, moving her head and stretching her arms and legs.

Today Savannah weighs 8.5 pounds and is over 21 inches!

This month's milestones:
1. Finding her thumb
2. Smiling (I'm 90% sure it wasn't gas or a dream)
3. Only waking up twice in the night to eat :-)
